Mary is a recreation of a mid-twentieth century sweater located in the Shetland Museum archive. Mary was originally created by Mary Abernathy of Lerwick and is a design heavily influenced by the elegant and embellished garments of the late 1950s and early 1960s, worn by movie stars such as Grace Kelly, Ava Gardner and Doris Day. Beads are cleverly used as decoration within a traditional OXO motif, replacing a multi-coloured yoke with highly decorative beads, to create a necklace-like effect, framing the wearer’s face. Mary is knitted in Fenella 2 ply 100% British wool and is shown in Limoncello, the same shade of yellow as that chosen by Mary Abernathy to knit her original version, but would look spectacular in any colour. You can choose from any one of eleven carefully selected shades of Fenella for you to create your own Mary. The shades available are Limoncello, Forget Me Not, Verdigris, Phthalo, Melancholy, Columbine, Charcoal, Delicot, Baked Cherry, Myrtle and Alta. Returns
Due to multiple parties which include the factory as well as the warehouse, we cannot effectively manage inventory. The actual stock levels can fluctuate at any point. It's possible that you may not receive your order once it's been placed.
Our policy runs for 30 days. We cannot exchange or refund your order if it has been 30 days since the purchase.
To be eligible for a refund the product must be unopened and in the same condition as when you received it in. The item must be returned in its original packaging.
