About Tyto Alba:
Tyto Albo makes clever use of stitches with differing row gauges to create a cowl that provides coverage exactly where its needed!
Tyto Alba is a cosy, comforting cowl, worked from the bottom up in the round. It features a striking central cabled panel complemented by a highly textural, slipped stitch pattern to create a warm, bouncy fabric for those chilly days. The difference in the row gauge of the two patterns is used to great effect, creating a dramatically shaped front section which sits perfectly where your coat closes; at the back there is less bulk, so the cowl sits comfortably against the back collar. Short rows are worked at the top of the cowl back to keep out those chilly winds.
Tyto Alba is knitted in our Barn yarn, a DK weight, 100% British wool, with just the right amount of drape for this soft, comforting cowl and yet enough character to emphasise the beautiful textured pattern and sculptural cables on its surface.
The pattern includes a written pattern plus charted instructions for the cable patterns.
